Ripping DVD

Anyone has any idea how i can rip the move from my DVD so that i can upload it into my ipod? And do i have to go through that dreadful Videora experience again?

I recommend Fairuse Wizard or Total Video Converter. Both aren't free, but very user-friendly and customizable.

edit: a free alternative is Mediacoder

I would recommend AoA DVD Ripper. So far it has served me very well. With this program I can straight rip the DVD and automatically convert it to iPod format. But if this doesn't work for you, by all means use google and firefox to find what you need.

I'm not sure about DVD to xvid, you might need to use dvd decrypter first. They also have presets which you can use, which I remember from the last time I used them. The UI isn't that great and ripping a movie to ipod mp4 with subtitles burned-in can be a really daunting task so I've stopped using it since.

I dropped about 10 euros on Fairuse Wizard 2 years ago and haven't looked back since. It works great, and simple. You can try their light edition for free.

In fact, what I am using is another popular DVD Ripper program: Pavtube DVD Ripper now.
It is used to convert DVD to many other video and audio formats, such as AVI, MPEG, WMV, MOV, MP4, MP3 compatible with iPod, iPhone, PSP, Zune.

I prefer the progam as its after-sale service is good. Last month, I encountered a problem and sent it to them, they replied and solved my problem on time.
