Rhythm Guitar Gathering/Workshop

Hi guys, I was wondering if there's any interest among the guitarists of soft to have a gathering and share rhythm tricks in all styles, with a primary focus on accompaniment and rhythmic displacement and such, as well as note choices and voicing solutions.

Styles include funk, latin, swing, etc.

Anyone interested?

Doesn't only have to be guitarists, it could be a rhythm section thing, might be interesting.

Guys who can contribute, please put down topics you wish to share here so we can consolidate the contents of the "workshop".

Alternatively, if you want to contribute but you're not quite sure if what you want to do is relevant, send me a PM.

Topic List

1. bboy2388 - Diatonic Chord Substitution and Dominant Chord Substitution (Reharmonization included)
2. bboy2388 - Voice Leading in 3-4 Note Chord Voicings (Rootless and Rooted) (Inversions also covered)
3. (volunteer) - Chord Construction
4. hifi_killer - Funk Rhythm (hifi_killer maybe you'd like to be specific here?)
5. (volunteer) - Latin Rhythm
6. (volunteer) - Swing Rhythm

Standard isn't a problem of course but it'd be great if you have something to contribute as well. Wondering if some of the more experienced guitarists on soft can volunteer to contribute to the session in a more active way.

An idea i had is for individual members to volunteer to chair discussions or share about certain topics. For example:

Xiao'an (bboy2388 ) - Rhythmic Displacement in Funk Guitar and Using 2-3 note Voicings in Funk Rhythm

Whoever (nick) - Using Anticipations in Swing Rhythm

Anyone want to volunteer?

serious!?
organise!!!!
i wana have a gathering!!
since i miss that acoutics one tat time,
feeling wasted!!!

ooo i'm interested! but i probably can't contribute much though.

just curious, are you planning to have it at a jamming studio or something? cause it could be a problem if there are many people attending.

hey, interesting, and i'm interested.

the only guitarist in the band so have to handle both, so maybe i can contribute a bit and learn a bit as well, yeap2

opps sorry if i'm suggesting too much lol but it would also be interesting if someone can show various (typical) rhythm styles, say latin, waltz, metal, rock, bossa, gypsy, blues and all that ..... or it could be an impromptu thing?

erm another suggestion.
chord coloring? i could contribute on that as well as chord subs.
reharmonizing sounds good too! haha

what if a group of lead guitarists takes this chance to invade your gathering and solo all over you?!?!

*i dont even know what im talking about* *walks away*

No such thing as a lead guitarist. Only guitarist. Lead guitar is a part, like soprano or tenor.

Chord colouring you mean extensions and alterations? We can cover that in the broader concept of Chord Construction.

and so on. If anyone wants to have a specific topic discussed, copy the list and add something, maybe someone will volunteer to explain it.

By specific i mean topics that you're covering within the subject. If you'd rather not then just copy and paste the topics list and change it to whatever you'd like to call it first.
