jeepers: thanks for the links, been drooling nonstop.. and thanks for that ebay link also, i had bidded on that round badge but after reading about all the problems round badge snares have with drum heads i'm quite thankful i din get it.

weckl-x: thanks for the info about Vaughncraft Percussion, any idea if they do finishing and where to get the rest of the hardware? lugs hoops etc? btw, liked the ikea comparison.. i wonder do they flat pack and get elephants to stand on the shell to test its durability.. haha..
