Remember your first gig?

i was scared to my panties in front of a crowd of.. say, 200 at least.

was performing an original. had to bass and do vocals. been practicing like hell for the past 2 days before. me knees were trembling.

turned out okay, i guess. good experience, no doubt.

hmmmm...my band's 1st gig wat at planet paradigm..but i wasn't there
so,my 1st gig was at I.J...and there were abt..hmmmmmm..4 to 5 ppl?hahahahaha
yeah..and tat 4 to 5 ppl were my frens.lol
cos we were the last band to prfrm.haha

My first real gig experience as an audience was at the Substation garden, december 1990. Back then, most students go to Fire tea party, listen to pop and rap and radio did not even play Bon Jovi. There was BigO magazine, photocopied fanzines and DIY cassette tapes. I remember at the gig there were a lot of thrash metal bands (back then it was united). There were people moshing and slamming in the circle (it was really shaped to a pit). I was in the background but I was happy like fark to have discovered something that nobody else were into back then. I felt a sense of brotherhood with these outcasts....

Hmmm... My first ever gig would be in Pri 6 during my farewell concert. My friend and I did GnR's Patience. Nervous as hell as I had to vox as well.

Hehe... Memories..

First ever gig.

I cocked things up. Set up by me. Ruined by me.
Thus , I quitted the band after that first show :)

My first gig was Tapestry 04 if I'm not wrong.

So nervous!. Thinking I'd forget how to play this song or my string will break or any thing could happen! So negative!

=D

Mine was just bad. The band wasn't prepared because I tore my ACL 3 weeks before the gig, I was lucky to be hobbling around without the crutches. needless to say, the gig was painful, but it brought my bassist and I closer together as friends, despite the fact that the band disbanded after that, I learnt alot from it. The next time I play at some gig, I'm gonna outshred everyone else :D, WITHOUT HAVING TO LIMP ON AND OFF STAGE.

my first gig was at one of my secondary school's military band camp. i was playing for with my first band. it's still around, but the members are kinda busy. (my soft nick is the title of an original from this band)

we were of course, nervous. we mostly covered nirvana. the sound wasn't good, but hey, no one had any experience on that at that time. the amps were practice amps and the drums overpowered both the guitar and the bass guitar. haha but it was well received in my opinion. we had fun.

my first gig was early this year. it wasn't bad but wasn't that great either. no one came up to the front so it kinda felt like we were playing for the walls. haha. i also felt nervous onstage as i too had to do vocals but after a couple of songs i felt more confident.

my first gig

my first gig is on early this year..i think its at DXO on 26 jan 08.
We called Cryptic Death that time. Now, We called ourselves Roadkill..
Since its our first gig,we all were soo nervous that we're just stood still while playing on the first song haha!!However,Out of all my members,im am so active(and happy too) after the first song cause i manage to get the feel of it..hehehe:D..Im a bassist by the way..
Overall,We did a great job over there even though theres no crowd at the front but, at least theres a quite alot of cheers and screams when they know the songs we're covering.haha!
However, the main thing that sucks the most is the organiser(i will not say who..)..he said that the time slots will be drawn by lots but in the end, it was arranged by the youngest agers play first which it at 12pm!!WAT THE HELL!!..so, we got the first slot..i was so frustrated back then..then on the main day,We were push up to 1pm..Phew..thats great!but, again pushed back again to 12.30 pm..Haish...wat an ass..because of that,25% of my friends did get to watch the last 15 min of it(thought they could went out for a while since it is at 1pm)..
In the end ,we all tired..and that was the best and bit of worst(organiser) memories i had that day...WOW!i did a very long reply man!!:D

Oh,heres our band vids on that gig...its on the favourites:

My first gig was in school for a fundraising event...There were about 500 people there and we played some maiden tunes and a megadeth song...Crowd reception was great...Awesome first gig....

my first gig was at gas haud.................music mania by xtrememusic. It was e best gig i ever had. Lols. The audiences was a stranger to me but real fun though. Compare to other gigs, e audience was my frens. they jus act fun for the start of it after a few songs, they start to stand still, sit down.........TATS Y STRANGERS IS STILL E BEST

in school? doing maiden and megadeth? and getting good reception? WOOOW. i wish it happens for me.

not actually a gig, but a performance. Anugerah band. only joined the band a week before the audition date. the judges didnt like us. so yeah. got kicked. soundman didnt let guitarists adjust the amps. no monitor speakers. couldnt hear what we were playing. how fucked up. was of course, nervous as hell.. but our slot was the last before lunch. so the crowd was only a handful and the judges were hungry. so they kicked us out. wakakkakaka.

First gig was with my first band at Gas Haus. Music Mania 5 if i'm not wrong? Hahaha. I think it was quite screwed up. I have the video somewhere...

My first ever gig was at my school in the library. I was very nervous and scared. Turned out I sang with trembling and flat vocals in most parts of that 1-song performance by me.. :"(

My first gig was back in 1992,when I was in primary 6.Perform the song Stand by me.hehehe.I played tumbourine and do back up vocals in front of about 200 plus audience. For someone young,12 yrs old, at that time,it was a memorable and priceless experience. It went smoothly on that day. From that day onwards,my musical journey carry on till today.:)

My first gig was at DXO last year , and i must say we played too fast hahah . Adrenaline i guess . Anyone had this problem?
