Refinishing my guitar body

Hi, i have a alder strat body which has no finish now. it has a quilted maple top and i am thinking of coating it with transparent blonde wood pain. What do u guys think?

How about the finishing?You planning to use laquer cause i got a feeling the paint will come out unless you laquer.

yeah i am goig to finish it with a layer of antiqu oil after staining the wood blonde
