Recommended guitar setup for Gibson Les Paul's

Hi all,

I'm wondering if anyone here can recommend the best place/person to go to for a good setup for Gibson Les Pauls.

I recently purchased one from Swee Lee but the guy in the Swee Lee service centre didn't seem very helpful at all and just told me that setup is not required because the strings height are fine. I didn't see the need to insist because I didn't want to risk the guitar in his 'unfriendly' and amateurish hands.

So I'm just inquiring if anyone here can give me a few leads on where I can go about getting a really good setup done (with professional guitar service :))

Thanks much

Guitar Connection gets my vote. I love the set up on their Gibson LP Custom they have displayed at the front.

Question here is, what's wrong with the guitar that you feel needs setting up?

Thanks for the recommend, though I don't quite fancy Guitar Connection after experiencing their cold customer service a couple of times..mainly from some short guy who seems to be the owner.

Nothing is really wrong with my LP. It's just that I feel that the action is slightly high, and I would like to lower it a little. Small job I presume..

Thanks a mil for all the recommends!!

I'll probably head to TYMC or Music Alchemy. Checked out their websites and they both seem pretty credible and professional.

Haha I see. Well you have to check whether your neck is warped or not. sometimes that affects the action.

I would say do it yourself if it's something so simple.

You could try going to Mr Gsonique and see if he has the time to setup ur guitar for you.. another reputable person whom i dare let handle my guitars is none other than Beez. Friendly, does the work in front of your very eyes, humble and passionate in what he does with reasonable charges.

Last but not least, yourself.

i vote for beez. you book an appointment. he sets it up on the spot. no waiting a few days or what crap. does good work for his price.
