Hey fellow softies, just wanna hear your opinions on your choice of guitar for plucking. i'm considering (currently) buying the Martin OMC-1E or Larrivee OM 03RE or the Taylor 314CE. =) Cheers to Fingerstyle!!

There was an Ayers acoustic I tried at Ranking quite a while back. It cost just below $1K if I remember correctly. It had a dull natural finish and a smaller body (not an OM, though, perhaps 3/4 jumbo, Grand concert or Grand auditorium). Sounded great for fingerstyle but sounded good for strumming as well. Perhaps you could give it a try.

Forgot to add, it was sweeter than the Martin dreadnought I also tried that day despite costing quite a lot less (the Martin cost $1.7K).

oh ayers, but sometimes i wonder if the nut width is 1~3/4 because i currently have a dreadnought and my fat fingers just dun make it for the tiny width haha, but yea ayers and crafters there have nice sounds but one thing that kinda put me off is the unavailability of full solid OMs there, but when i tried the larrivee it was different, full solids have just this more complex sounding overtones i dunoo haha! which martin did u try by the way?

To be honest I can't remember haha. But it was a dreadnought in full satin finish with a spruce top. The neck, back and sides was this greyish wood with prominent dark streaks. Can't seem to find the model though...

haha yea well just test and listen rite? i hardly ever look at models too unless the guitar really impressed me. You're into fingerstyle as well? Martins are quite the brand name la not exactly the best material to price ratio but u get that reputation haha. but then again, sound matters much more i'm just concerned with the built of the guitar, i dun wanna buy something tat will become unstable after awhile like the reviews i read for takamines
