Any good recommendations for a decent acoustic guitar with a budget of around 600? Preamp not important as I dont think I will use it for gigs. More for leisure playing. Thanks.

try tanglewood at tymusic. very playable and nice sounding n gd value for e money, especially e dreadnought shaped ones. i got a solid cedar top (no preamp) for about 300 odd only :D

I'd recommend you try the Custom Acoustics at Citymusic. Bang, bang, BANG for the buck. Quality stuff at low prices. The Alvarez's are good choices too. I've tried the Tanglewoods before, IMHO they're not as good as the above 2.

Yup i agree the custom acoustics are great guitars.

For the tanglewood i think the dreadnoughts sound better than their cutaway styled guitars :D more acoustic volume and balance

IMO both brands are great value for the money, low action, big sound

Try also Washburn and Takamine guitars! The dealer for Washburn guitar is Lutheir Guitar@ Orchard Plaza while the dealers for Takamine is Davis guitar @peningsula. If you could raise your budget by $150 you should try getting a Simon&Patrick at Sinamex. Or a Art and Lutherie! :)
