where to get and how much?

considering Nady SCM1000 or Behringer B-2,

or MXL model, Audio Technica, AKG

saw online but not sure are these brands available locally?

my church is buying an AV-Jeff large diaphragm condenser from luther.. we compared it to the at2020 and the av-jeff sounded much warmer.. the at2020 by comparison sounded cold.. price wise both the same.. think about $180..
best bang for the buck i think.

apparently its made from the same factory as the audio technicas.. taiwanese oem i think.. no brand name but quality should be same..it actually sounds better than the audio technica.. Luther was recommending it.

hope i got the name right.. maybe can give luther a call..

only thing is it doesn't have a switch to switch pickup pattern..

Akg Perception 100 and Akg Perception 200... Check the reviews if you don't believe.
I tested them, they are a killer alrite!!! Better than Rode NT-1A and Behringer B2Pro. My friend who had a Rode NT-1A wanted to sell it to get the Perception 100.
I compared it with the Audiotechnica AT-4033A (a high model!), the Perception 200 matches up with it, though slight difference in character.
These are Akg latest model, and they really did it this time!!

I have the behringer MIC200 Tube Pre-Amp. If you're really serious about recording, you should consider something less noisy.

Nope, i think Perception 100 is $280+ , Perception 200 is $380+ in Singapore. Zsounds sell Perception 100 for US$99, Perception 200 for US$159, but they don't ship overseas.

Depends on brand you are looking for.

certain shures (SM57/58, betas etc) are cheaper at sims drive swee lee than at distributor E&E.

a good all round place will be wei lian at sim lim square.

carry a wide range and good pricing!

i ordered from zZounds before using vPOST ... very fast shipping .. but the drawback is that if you have a huge package to be delievered ... vPOST can be a little expensive .. i paid quite a fair bit for the shipping to singapore from vPOST ..

but the good thing is that if you order over a certain amount at zZounds they ship for free! ... that settles the US shipping at least ...

For mics, try ADK Hamburg and Vienna, it is one of the best at that price range....not quoted by me though....

I am using the Vienna now....
