Thanks Lifehouse vernplum, I received an e-mail from someone about a top scratch on a Martin acoustic and I presume this is you. Please seriously consider my advice. I've been too many "disfigured" guitars and best to leave the aesthetics alone. I can most probably re-touch the finish with a nitro-compatible finish See you at 10am tomorrow
