hey i wan to learn the electric guitar but my budget for buying a guitar is tight so can someone help me suggest a few guitars. my budget's like around 250-300 dollars so i would really appreciate if someone can help me here

yea go for a starter pack, getting one for 250 (amp included) shouldn't be a prob. peninsula shopping centre has a lot of stores selling them. ibanez, squire and aria are all good.

Get the sx les paul at davis guitar down at penin basement. its really a great starter guitar. $250 includes bag, amp, tuner, pick, howto dvd.

I wouldn't recommend starter pack guitars because most of the time, their guitars are not set up at all which would make you as a complete beginner to guitar feel that the instrument is extremely hard to play and your interest in playing guitar would wear off before you can finish saying "Zimbabwe".

If I were you, I would source the 2nd hand market for a cheap guitar and amp that is of decent quality. doesn't matter whether you are buying from a shop or from someone online. most importantly, the gear must work and the guitar has to be decently set up for easy playing.

Don't succumb to convenience. do the necessary homework for your own good. you won't lose too much money if you were to sell off 2nd hand gear from the start too.

300 is a pretty low budget for amp + guitar.
i second the guy who mentioned checking out the classifieds section here.
there are pretty good deals for small amps and starter guitars.

bring a friend who knows how to play to go check out those 2nd hand guitars and amps. more worth it than buying brand new.

300 dollars is actually enough to get a decent guitar. .In fact, I got my fernandes for only $210. xD. And i got it with 2 coils of cables + zoom g2 + an antique zoom driver 5000. =)

he he... i got my ARIA XL Standard for $195... so it's enough proof that there are some very affordable stuff out there, it's a matter of looking for them.

especially when it has a spilt coil system in it.. =)
But the only reason why i wont buy it yet is... it has 22 frets.. I m currently looking for a 24 with an FR. xD
