Hey all,

I'm looking to get my first acoustic guitar and embark on my musical journey.

Do you guys have any recommendations for a good acoustic guitar under 150 dollars and where to get them?

i have no musical background whatsoever and will be using the internet to self learn.

Thanks in advance!:D

first guitar is the most important guitar get down to Davis at peninsula to get a guitar that really fits you and ur budget. but i'll say a Takamine D-series is good for beginners i started with that. hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies!

I'm looking for a guitar that can last and hopefully sound well.

Of course the cheaper the better la, but hopefully it will cost below 150.

Will check out the guitars on Friday, hopefully i can find the right one for me.

Pls do continue to recommend good guitars for me though, or else i do not know which model to look.

THanks!:-D

I doubt there are Takamine D series below $200? If your budget is tight you might want to try the Samick acoustics if they're still there... Production ceased for the LW-015 and LW-028 models already but I really recommend them. Excellent beginner guitars for the price. Full-sized dreadnoughts but perhaps a little bit thinner, so it's easier for beginners to handle.

jack112: I've played Maestros before and they're very nice. But the quality control can be quite inconsistent so make sure you play it and inspect it thoroughly first before buying.

ok thanks.

I'll go down to penin soon and try out the guitars.

Thank you all for the reply.

Got any tips to judge how a guitar is good?

Like what to look out for in a new guitar?

Btw, my real name is Eugene too.;)

Make sure the finishing is consistent. The neck must be straight and you should not be seeing flaws in build. Tone-wise, you must like it, and you must also like how it plays. It must stay in tune, too. But you'll never know. I've played a friend's piece and the finishing was rather poor. But the tone was great.

Ps.. Eugene isn't my real name. It's an unofficial english name that's very similar to my real name so other people can call me more easily.
