Rating Sellers on the forum

I bought something from someone via the forum and despite the fact that it was stated that the item was in excellent condition there were pieces missing. Now I have sms'd the person a number of times to ask were these pieces asked and despite 3 sms no reply.

Before everyone jumps in and says my fault I should have checked I am not arguing that.

However, I assumed the parts were with item and I bought it in good faith based on the fact the person said excellent condition on their post.

So my point is why can't we look at rating sellers and buyers on the forum.

PS - If you are the person I am talking about and you read this do the right thing and at least stop ignoring my sms.

a suggestion from what I've seen from some forums' classifieds is to start a "bad sellers list thread"
but of course, with valid information that the seller has deliberately missed out information and by no means a negligence on the buyers's part

in certain forums, certain sellers who have had multiple complains from buyers may be banned
but of course, does not deter one to rejoin the forum under a different nick or IP

We COULD do it like ebay style. with ratings and reviews on the seller. but that'd take up a lot of space.

You may want to consider doing it the way Talkbass does where only supporting members can post items to sell.

You have to pay a nominal fee to become a supporting member. It should help defray some of the costs of running this site as well as weed out errant sellers.
