Rally or Greg Bennett Avion ?

I'm thinking of getting me a new electric guitar, dont really play any specific genres, but anyone can compare the prices of the guitar, and its tone etc for me ? Mainly looking at the Rally GL-400 and Greg Bennett Avion series, but not sure where to get the Greg Bennet guitars in singapore. Thanks in advance

Hi Ikko.

I suggest you look at more models for comparison. Broaden your choice. You must know what you are looking for in a guitar. (e.g. Stratocaster, Les-Paul, bolt-on-neck, cutaway etc)
In terms of tone, tone depends on what wood is used (mahogany,rosewood,maple), where the wood is used (neck, fretboard), pickup configuration and quite or most importantly - what AMPLIFIER you plug your guitar into.
In terms of pickup, don't bother about getting superb tone from the stock pickups built onto the guitar. There's a reason why Seymour Duncan and DiMarzio haven't withdraw from the business.

I can't decide for you which guitar to get but here's what I think:

If you see a guitar you really like that you MUST have, and the price is right, grab it.
Ultimately, everybody has different preferences and it's hard to tell whose decision is better.

In terms of pickup, don't bother about getting superb tone from the stock pickups built onto the guitar.

some stock pickups are superb, regardless of their in-house reputation (eg: Ibanez's Super 58). bottom line is to listen to the guitar & appreciate what it has to offer. a good amp is also able to offset the bland performances of default pickups.

Are tesla pickups good too ? I've heard some tesla pickups and my, they sound really good. I'm mainly looking for a LP shaped guitar, and i have narrowed to the greg bennett avion series and rally, but i cant seem to find any greg bennett guitars online in singapore, so i came here to ask about it

Depends, both are quite different imho.
Go try both. Rally@SV, and Davis does have some Samicks (Greg Bennetts). I got my semi hollow from there and it sounds good stock.

you can check out byleft at POMO also. they do bring in Axl's. Haven't been there for the longest time. great service from terence and tina there. should check it out too imo. bought some stuff from there..
