quick guitar wiring help needed

ok so i just overhauled the electronics on my guitar (2 hums, 3 way switch, 1 vol, 1 tone). brand new input jack, vol + tone pots, and 3 way switch.

got sound so input jack works
3 way switch works
tone pot works
but volume pot doesn't work (volume does not change when i turn the volume pot).

it's very weird because there's only 3 wires wired to the volume pot.

1st wire - volume pot to input jack. got sound when plugged in so obviously this is not the problem.

2nd wire - volume pot to tone pot. tone pot works so this is not the problem

3rd wire - volume pot to 3 way switch. 3 way switch works.

how to solve the problem?

the wires 'position' are correct? ground, lead?

[The centre lug should be soldered to both the 3way and tone-pot. One side lug should be soldered to the jack and the other lug to earth or the top of the pot.] WRONG, PLEASE IGNORE

u mean 3 way switch and the vol pot have ground/lead positions? pardon me cos this is the 1st time i overhaul all electronics though previously got experience wire pickups into existing electronics. but i did take note of how the wires connected on the old electronics so i just soldered accordingly.

anyway i uploaded a picture of the wiring. pardon the blurness. the white wire when my finger was on is the wire connecting the volume pot to the 3 way switch. u can see where they are soldered in the picture. volume pot is the pot above.

ok the picture's pretty blur so let me clarify:

for the volume pot, i wired center lug to jack, left side lug to 3 way switch and tone pot.

what could be wrong man?

now the volume pot works, but tone pot doesn't seem to make a difference, but should be easy to troubleshoot cos there's only 2 things there, the capacitor and the wire that connects to the volume pot.

now the tricky thing is, for the 3 way switch, i'm able to switch between neck and bridge humbuckers but not both (the middle position). why?

tone pot problem solved, it works now.

left with the damn 3 way switch. i resoldered the pickup wires to different lugs on the 3 way switch, now only bridge and middle positions work. previously, only bridge and neck positions work. it's the dm-30 japan made switch if anybody is wondering. and my 2 humbuckers only have 1 wire (hot. no ground. gibson 500t and 496r).

The DiMarzio and Tesla sites have a good reference section on various wiring diagrams. You might want to check those out.
