Your answer is that any speakers also can! as long you got the right connectivity though and make sure its active speakers or with passives make sure u have a amp to power it.You can take even your home system to use actually. im not shure of your outs for your toneport or mixer. If they have 1/4 then its simple. get a splitter cable to connect your desktop speakers.If its XLR only then i dun think you can...btw search out for cheap monitor options on soft. the old alesis power amp ra 100 and monitors some members are only selling at 350 a set. ITs worth it coz if u were to go to sound on sound website, even their writers praise the alesis monitors.(monitor 1) but its quite and old model so search out for one thats in good condition. and this things might even be vintage status as time goes by...its hard to get this good quality and cheap systems nowadays
