Questions about jamming !

Hi all.i wanna ask that what basic requirements do i need to have b4 i can jam ???. If u are not good in playing guitar or dun even know how to play a guitar , can go to the jamming room with frens to just have fun?

well anyone can go jam, you just pay the money and don't mess up the place im sure the jamming studio peeps wont mind..

but why waste the money?

Learn to play your instruments first or you'll end up wasting money and appearing like douches to other musicians that need to jam later cause of you messing around with things.

All in all, jamming rates aren't cheap. Unless you can find a cheap jamming studio, then do so. It's all up to you.

Well basic would be to know what songs you guys will be playing, how to play the songs. And at least try to complete the songs that you can play.

With those things in mind, your jamming experience would be much better.

Learn your songs and parts.

Tightness in your member's parts is key, too.

And, if you can't fufill these 2 requirements, go to a friend's house for a jam instead of wasting money at a jam studio! :twisted:

always always learn your stuff before going. if not jamming really wouldn't be fun at all.
unless your idea of fun is wasting money and bonding through self composed songs thought of on the spot, i'd say learn your stuff before jamming

actually if u know nothing abt music i'd think tt a gd first few steps to take would be to pick up either guitar or singing and hang out with a friend with 2 acoustics and try to play a song together.

lidat then wun spend and u get the feel of what it's like to play a song with another musician.

else u learn a song then nv coordinate properly or the song u learn lagi difficult to pull off then no fun lah.

but hey... that's just what i would do man.

It would be great to know how to play some basic chords of a song before u jam. Identify the musicians u need. Mainly, vocalist, bassman, guitar and drummer.

If u have a decent drummer, try U2 (with or without u), simple D A Bm G (i think).
If u have great leadman, try sweet child of mine.. sky is the limit..
