question regarding istanbul mehmet

i just bought a paper thin 16" traditional crash.
i noticed a signature on the underside of the cymbal, together with the word "TESTED". I haven't bought any Istanbuls prior to this, so i'm just wondering whether it is a printed signature or whether all mehmet cymbals come with the stamp and a signature.

i paid US$72 for it (abt $106 sing), so i'm wondering whether that's a reasonable price for a mehmet crash.

is mehmet still alive??? all i know is that he worked with armand or kerope some lightyears back...

hehehe.. probably signed by one of their testers QC.

Since the Istanbul days (pre-split), the signatures have been signed by a secretary. This practice has followed the companies after the split.

The signatures are their of saying "This cymbal has meets our quality standards". Like a Q.C stamp.

An Agop endorser on another forum has mentioned that the Agop signatures are stamped, while mehmets are still hand-signed, though not by Mehmet Tamdeger himself. I think he should be in his late sixties or mid seventies now.

That's definitely a great price, no worries on that front :)
