Question regarding a guitar cab. Experts welcome :D

Hope some1 with good knowledge can answer my question:

1. Will a Marshall 1x12 Celestion V30 speaker sound different from a Mesa/Boogie 1x12 with Celestion V30?
2. Where can I buy Celestion speakers locally?
3. And where can I buy an good empty cabinets that varies from 1x12 to 2x12? Closed back is preferred.
4. Supposed I am going to buy a 2x12 cab, is there a way I can toggle 1 speaker at a time - Maybe a switch or something? I Know you will ask me the WHY question. Honestly speaking I have not decided if I will buy a 1x12 or a 2x12 speakers. The goal is to create heavy metal sounds with out disturbing my neighbors. :evil:
5. Any suggested 1x12 or a 2x12 cab that has a celestion vintage 30 locally?

1)Won't be a big diff, depends on what wood they use to make the cabs. But difference is minimal if your ears aren't trained

4)Hmm possible, but then you'll found that the balance for your cab will be very off, so best if you don't do it. Heavy metal sounds, just crank up the gain, with the right eq/saturation/guitar, you're good to go
5)Not sure on this, but some brands that have 2x12 cabs would be Blackstar, Marshall that's all I can think off the top of my head.

Davis are unable to bring in any 2x12 1936v with Vintage 30s. I've tried many times.

But i myself did a research on cabs and have found avatarspeakers.

Still waiting for some money and SPACE to get a 2x12 or 4x12.

Great reviews online.

If not, i think i saw a 2x12 marshall cab with gt75 in the classifieds.

@J.Custom - Thanks you for the information. I was planning to build my own can but unfortunately DIY kits are also that expensive. I thought I could save a lot of $$$ - But the difference is not that much. Better I should buy a ready made one.

@theunkown - Where can I buy this avatar cabs locally or from a website that ships to sg?

- Supposed I am buying a 5 watts amp head ( Blackstar ht 5 ). Will a 2x12 sound freaking loud on room use? Or a 1x12 is advisable?Again not to disturb HDB neighbors, I don't want cops to come at my place. hahaha. Also they said 1x12 V30 cabs sounds boxxy - I don't know what they mean because I never had experience on this and mostly shops don't even sell v30 cabs.

You will have to ship avatar cabs in, but shipping costs won't be cheap. So might as well just buy a cab here, and swap speakers out.

I suppose a 1x12 will be good enough for home use. You can probably even gig with it! But go for a 2x12 if you can, will definitely be louder, but you'll get a 'fuller' sound out of it. BUT go try the diff between a 1x12 and 2x12, then decide which one you like. 2x12 might not always be better/what you prefer

boxiness is not a matter of the speaker or size of speaker. its the construction of the cabinet.

if you want to research, hey are some points to look for:
- 8" 10" 12" differences
- 1x12 2x12 4x12 differences
- close, open backs differences
- materials of cabinet differences
- of course, the difference of speakers

I'm guessing it's cos he plays metal, as mentioned earlier, so a closed backed cab will give a tighter bass response if I'm not wrong
