query squier cali series

im a beginner

i own one

i dont know if its worth la. hahaha. cos i havent tried super high end guitars, and compare many guitars to know whats good,

same here bro.own one me self.just wanted to know what the regulars have to say.compared to the axes they've encountered.

like most cheap guitars...they suffer from lack of quality control.
which means you have to go out and play quite a few to find a good one.

i remember trying 3 squier calis...2 strats and a tele...
2 of them had sharp fret ends...but the last one actually felt pretty ok.

also note that the squier cali necks are narrower and slimmer than standard necks.

not a regular haha but i used to own the tele, but i sold it and upgraded to a Fender strat in less than 2 months. its actually quite worth they money, considered its sub $300 price tag, but the one thing which annoyed me was that it had ample fret buzz even after several tweaks, but that could be that particular guitar's problem, not that i'm saying that the whole cali series has the same fault. oh ya and with reference to Everdying's post, i believe that the neck thickness could be due to poor quality control. i tested a 2 teles of different colours and they both had different neck thickness, so watch out if you are intending to make a purchase. cheers.

being a strat person myself, to me it's the best budget strat...with a good price also....I owned the sunburst strat with maple fret/neck....it's a good piece of guitar to put beside your bed together with a small parctice amp...when you can grab it anytime before you sleep or just wake up....without any worries of getting it knocked, bump, etc....has a nice strat feel on it....the neck is very comfy...the weight is abt the same to a normal fender strat.

this is better than some of the other budget guitars that I've tried so far....I've tried Ibanez GIO, Epi LP specialII, Yamaha Pacifica, LTD M50, etc...

but if you looking for a reliable recording and gig machine, better save some more and get at least an MIJ fender....The pups are not outstanding, very muddy and a lot of noise, the unfinished neck will get worn off quickly if you play it intensively, not a really stable trem and tuners also...

worn out as in the neck thins out & finally disintegrate (snap maybe)? i hope this isn't the case because the chances of it happening is slim...

non-gloss finished necks or very thin satin finish units get worn in (not worn out) very quickly. it means that the neck would feel very seasoned very quickly due to matters pertaining to handling (yes, most likely it's your sweaty palms...).

SUB : hmms sub bro, does it mean laquerfinished necks wear out slower? Thanks.

Hmms i still think the timbre strat at SV has better overall performance than the cali strat considering the price wad... just my opinion =X
