Hi all. I am currently aiming to get a compressed tone from my setup and was originally thinking of getting a compressor pedal like a Barber Tone Press or something like a modded Boss CS-3.
Another thought came to mind, which was getting a TS-type pedal. I like how a TS sounds like and how it stacks with a Marshall-type pedal, which I have(Zvex Distortron), and also on its own. I noticed that the TS does introduce some compression, but I didn't try it for long enough to really get a feel of it. I am looking to get a more even sound as in the 'loud becomes softer, soft becomes louder' compression thing, and also more punch. I am not looking for a Dynacomp squish, but more for levelling out the frequencies. So, will a TS-type pedal, say a TS-7, introduce the kind of compression I am looking for?
Of course I do realise that the TS is not a compressor and will not get the level of compression and balance, but I am hoping that I can kill 2 birds with one stone
