hey guys,

I need your help with purchasing guitars within that budget range
I have been using this Yamaha guitar for very long now and i want to change to a new guitar.
Have no idea what to upgrade to except for the taylor gs mini but it's kinda small after i've tested it out.

Would love to hear from you guys the right gig that i should get. I'm not good at all in this.

Thanks alot

Which part of the Yamaha guitar don't you like? lacking in bass? Too trebly? well I would say save up a little more and get something that you'd play for a long time instead of jumping from guitar to guitar. when it comes to acoustics, it's best to play the guitar more often until it opens up.

thanks for the reply

It's a FG yamaha series. Really basic. Want to move to something even better and needs advice. Actually should i get one with a in built pick up or one without pick up and buy the pick up separately? I'm totally new to this genre of guitars and i think i've only study about those information on the surface like brands and wood.

Try looking at Custom Acoustic Guitars. I think they are pretty good for their price. You might wanna try to invest in this thing called Tonerite. What it does is it vibrates your guitar, to simulate you playing the guitar, except at a greater intensity and helps the wood to age a lot faster. you can check it out at www.bgwguitars.com

Separately. Some guitars with built in preamps spoil like no one's business. Especially so when they have a built in tuner. Do you have a good acoustic amp?

For a good acoustic guitar pickup. get the LR Bags Anthem.

tried it on a friend's Martin. awesome beyond words but of course, the guitar itself was very good.

Head down to city music to have a look at their custom acoustics. my definition of cheap and good.

Personally I'd say buy an electro-acoustic. If you buy a pure-acoustic and buy a pickup system for it, you'll pay more in total because you're buying the pickup as a separate unit, whereas guitar makers buy the pickups in bulk, so it's cheaper to get the same pickup system if it is stock-equipped on a guitar.

However, if you're not satisfied with the stock-equipped pickup system, then scrap what I said, get a good pickup system and install it on your FG. Yamaha FGs may be affordably priced, but they're good guitars and worth keeping.

If it were me, i'd get one with the pickup installed already, less trouble and SUPER DUPER usefull, hopefully get one with a 3 band EQ

that is true but when the preamp spoils, first you have to replace it. second, it might not be a direct fit hence some wood shaving has to be done and third, the market value is spoilt after performing that irreversible mod.

I had an Applause guitar with a preamp that spoilt. upon hearing the necessary steps & money involved to get it fixed, I just sold it off cheap. a huge loss yes but I learnt my lesson.
