Hi

Is David the only PRS dealer in Singapore? I read a lot of negative comments about the store and the old uncle there, so having reservations about going there to make a custom order.

Any comments?

so far, i think so.

well, you can try going over to M'sia across the border, herad that the prices there ain't tt bad either.

OR,

you can talk to his daughter, Janet at Davis instead. she'll willingly assist you. yeah, and last i heard, Davis asks for 50% upfront for custom orders...so yeah..

and one more thing is, that try not to go to Davis with a 'negative' mindset, rather, come in with a smile, and a spring in your step. yupz. you'll receive a different treatment really. =)

used to nt like davis too...but their service have, in one way, improved over the past few months...

Actually prices of musical instruments in Malaysia are generally more expensive than in Singapore. Usually by around at least 20% more. In fact quite a number of Malaysians travel to Singapore to buy their gear.

Hi Mulyadi

You sound like you have experience- have you ordered a custom PRS before? They told me that it would take up to a year for it to come back. I'm not 100% confident that they will even get my order right; i was there the other day and played the blue Custom 22 (24?) that they have in the window by the door. I was asking all sorts of questions to the young woman there who I assume is the daughter that you all speak of, but she didn't know half of what I was talking about when I asked questions on hspecifications, options, finishes, electronics, necks, etc., let alone what to do if something in the order went wrong. Her stock answer for that seemed to be "Well, for such an expensive guitar, they won't get it wrong...".. :|

My next question if anyone knows - what it the PRS "Artist Package" that they talk about in the brochure? I can't find an explanation for it, or how much it might cost.

I'm considering getting a Hollowbody II and want to know how much it would cost for a '10' top, or a Piezo pickup, etc. and if this comes under the Artist thing.

My McCarty is customised with a floating bridge and locking tuners.

If the modification is not significant, PRS should be able to churn it out quick.

It really depends on whether any backlog exists and the respective dealer's re-stocking schedule.

My PRS came from Wildwood Guitars http://www.wildwoodguitars.com/electrics/prs/prs_home.html. They're great to deal with and I recommend them wholeheartedly. Same goes for Indoorstorm if you're looking for an Anderson or Suhr.

Since PRS kerna sued for the singlecut, will anymore single cut be sold and how much will they cost?

No SC will be sold apart from the Korean SEs. I hope PRS win the lawsuit.

If I'm not mistaken they had already lost. Last I heard, they were waiting for wat the court is going to award to Gibson.

what guitar is that?

They're talking about the PRS Singlecut. It's the same shape as a Les Paul more or less. Gibsoon suing/sued them. If you check the PRS website and try to view a Singlecut guitar you'll get some legal bumpf that basically says because of the dispute, they can't show you the guitar.

Not sure I recommend that model - has a nice finish, but can't remember if she has the wide fat neck... ;)
