To all folks out there,
If you believe that Singapore produced music deserves a proper home similar to a Hard Rock Cafe, a place where we serve great food and drinks, while songs of Shawn de Mello, Martin, Concave Scream, Padres, Heritage, Sun Yan Zi, and anything Singaporean play in the background. If you can visualise an outlet where Singaporeans can truly say "Yes, we know music, and we are good" while you share with your foreign visiting friends with music from Naked, Oddfellas, The Quests, Art Fazil, Zul. If you can see beyond playing gigs only to be forgotten, but to be able to step further and fine tune your music with proper funding and guidance to go in the right direction. If you believe that we can put together talent and resources to put Singapore music on a well-deserved spot on the map, if you believe in what I believe, please stay tune to this thread.
There is a plan, but would be great if I can hear more. There are some funds ready. Any suggestion would come in handy, especially if you're a group of polytechnic or varsity studies looking to complete a business thesis or FYP, or simply share the same dream as me, do drop an email to biker@singnet.com.sg. BUT YOU MUST BELIEVE AND BE COMMITTED TO SINGAPORE MUSIC AND TALENT.
My name is Eric. Yes I'm a dreamer, and I need dreamers to make this work. There'll be many sceptics out there, I'm sure I'll hear thousands of reasons why it cant work. But all I need is a reason to believe why it can, and we put it to work. Whether success or failure, I'd rather try failing, not fail trying.
I'll share more as I go along, but I've got a flight to catch later today, and will only be back in Jan 09. In the meantime, Douglas O says it well in his song "Drive to the Moon" ..." searching for the light, God will guide us right, into the tunnel of Love, where wishes all come through."
