Problem with pickups!

Hey, got some problems with the neck pickup on my strat copy. I can only hear something when the gain is set to very high or only when i turn up the distortion on my overdrive pedal. I'm not able to hear anything when its in the clean channel, the bridge and middle pickups are still working with no problems. When the gain/distortion is turned up, the neck THEN starts to produce a somewhat clean sound while the other pickups are already heavily distorted when used. Help plz!?

something to do with the electronics.dont think its the pickup itself.have a guitar tech to check it out for you.

I suspect its a case of a spoilt pickup. the coil inside probably got broken off or something. I dont think its the problem with the electronics as we are dealing with single coil pickups. if we are dealing with humbuckers, there might be a possibilty that it is wired out-of-phase by mistake.

bring to a tech to do an analysis for you. what you can do now is probably use a multimeter to check the output for your neck pickup.

ty to reverse the wiring on your selector where the neck opick up is wired to the bridge instead. I f your neck pick works fine, that means your selector cock up. Happened to me before.

If after U switch the wire and the neck pick up still the same...means U probably have a broken coil - have to either rewind new pick up wires or better still get a new replacement pick up

Oh, i'm using tesla hotrails. Just got them i think about less than a month ago from SV.

I doubt its the pickup. I supect its a faulty or worn/oxidised electronics part since you mention "strat copy" and if you're using stock electronics well, that often happens..

You can go to a guitar tech to have it checked up. I would recommend Beez @ Roxy Square for this. If its really electronics, then you'd be better off getting an electronics overhaul. Should be around $50 to $75 with all the Gotoh/switchcraft parts. If its the pickups, then tough luck buddy...
