PROBLEM with my Firewire Solo AI!!

Hello!

My problem is this :

After installing my drivers and setting up my FW solo AI, I tried to record my guitar in Logic.
No doubt it works, but after a few moments (like 20 mins), there's no sound going through my AI.
Means that my guitar produce no signal to the computer and when i play music from my computer, I also hear nothing. But theres still power through my AI (because there's still light glowing).

My computer is Mac OS X version 10.6.4, 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. MacBook Pro.

Are there any solution to this??

Do not use the Firewire bus power. Use the power adaptor given. Then try again.

Hey!
Erm how do i not use the firewire bus power? As in when i plugged it in, it will auto gain power.
Are there any ways to stop the power from the bus?

Just plug in the power adaptor. And see everything work.

hmm i wonder.. doesn't that defeat the purpose of getting a macbook pro (power and portability) + an audio interface with "power/portability" as well to carry one extra adapter

This is currently what I did for my solo. Even it can work without adaptor, I still plug cos there is performance/quality different. I have other audio interface that has bus power and optional adaptor. I have to plug adaptor to make it work correctly.
