preventing a guitar from going outta tune

this may sound silly but is there a way i can prevent my guitar from going out of tune when i transport it in a gig bag. I KNOW hard cases can solve my problem but i dont have one. any suggestions?

hm... actually tuning it b4 you gig or jam is still a must la.. =P don't be lazy on that. =P

regardless of wad tuners and nuts u have
u still gotta check whether ur tuning is right before u start playing

well, your strings might be brand new/super old. meaning to say that its not just the nut or the tuning pegs that affect the tuning. if you are transporting a FR equipped guitar with a unstable bridge, than I guess its time to get it changed.

a well padded softcase is good enough. however, dont be lazy la, just tune it up again .
