hello fello bassists...

i just acquired a 2nd hand fender 51 reissue p-bass... but the pickguard is a bad fit! it warps a little, so there's a gap between the pickguard and the body. so its either i let it be (but the shape seemed not well cut, probably non-original? and sometimes it scratched my thighs :? ) or where can i get them?

maybe i shld take pictures?

any reliable pickguard shop to purchase from? i realised in SG there's not much option for ready-made pickguard (usually strats and jazz bass style). or if any of u noe of a real good place hidden frm the usual guitar shops in sg?

cheers

hmm, not very sure, but the place that has the most fender products is at parklane, second floor. forgot the shop name. its the one which has all the expensive stuff init.

I got a P-bass pickguard from Davis and I think there might be some at Guitar Connection and Guitar Workshop too. But my pickguard shape is probably different from yours, since yours is a 51 reissue, which might be a little harder to find. You can try asking GW if they do cut out the pickguard, I think they do.

..

51 reissues are way different from 57s. so its quite hard to find pickguards that shape here.

alternatively you can get from allparts or warmoth.

yar...

all parts sell 'genuine fender parts' but its so expensive.
there's another US website ( guitar parts resource ) seemed much cheaper. but i'm more concerned w reliability tho.

opinions?

just get from Guitar Parts Resource ... they have a flat worldwide shipping rate but i suggest maybe you want to find more upgrades for your bass .. e.g. pickups ... tuners then you ship all at one go .. will be cheaper in that way ..

but if you want to change it for the better then just invest lah .. pay a bit more to get what you want ..
