Hey guys, I'll be getting my hands on a Jet City JCA2112RC soon, basically a JCA20H in a combo form with reverb. Going to get some mods done to it, add a clean channel, fx loop, depth control and tightening up the bass. It uses 2 EL84s and 3 12AX7s, but I was wondering whether I should swap out one or two of the 12AX7s to either a 12AY7 or 12AU7? The idea behind it is that I'll have a variety of tones at my finger tips, enough gain in the OD channel for rhythm rock guitar, and if I need anymore I'll just hit it hard with a clean boost, but yet enough headroom in the clean channel so that it doesn't break up too early and for a different flavour, I'll use drive pedals on this channel if needed. Any recommendations?
BTW the clean channel will have a single master volume control, unlike the OD channel which will have a separate preamp gain and master volume control. I know some people may be against the shared EQ between the both channels, but I've tweaked it enough to get something that's good for both channels
