We know you can't wait so here's the low-down on the bands!
AMBER DECEMBER
Formed about 365 days ago and counting, Amber December is the dream project of 5 dreamy guys who strive to fuse the sounds of bands like Green Day and The Killers to create the ultimate dream sound. Like a wet dream if you please. Of course, as is the nature of such childish notions, the dream is still just that, a dream. It's really not easy to describe the Amber sound. Our parents call it monkey music but we think it's decidedly more canine.
RUN NEON TIGER
Run Neon Tiger, a quartet of young lads from Singapore, introduce to you their own blend of guitar-based, melodic, indie rock.
Drawing aural inspiration from The Killers, The Strokes and Red Hot Chili Peppers, the boys from Run Neon Tiger hope to get your feet-tapping and torsos grooving to their tunes. Pseudo-romance, the embracing of change and regret are just some of the themes which permeate the dynamic bass-lines and cathartic beats of their musical manifestations.
After the current line-up of Jude (guitars), Ben (bass), Cristian (drums) and Paddy (vocals/guitar) was settled in late 2007, the band then went into a forced hiatus until mid-2009. Since then, these infants to the local music scene have been hard at work, fine-tuning their music to embody the struggles, passion, melancholy and the youth of today’s search for its raison d'être.
INDUS GENDI
A 7-member band, Indus Gendi plays its own brand of indie pop layered with fresh guitar and keyboard riffs, groovy bass lines and intricate drumming that all come together to form a cohesive musical experience. Lead vocalist Esther lends a saccharine sweet yet at times soulfully dark tone to the music as she sings above the instrumental melodies. With recent additions to the band, guitarist Amran Khamis (I Am David Sparkle) and bassist Juan Chan (Sevenfalls, Syawla Evol), expect to hear subtle elements of post-rock and funk integrated into the music. Currently, plans are underway for the band to record its debut LP, I'll Be Good If You Say Yes.
COCKPIT
A sacred vision during a night of Guitar Hero and extreme intoxication in the Winter of 2008 set these four wandering souls forth on their evangelical journey of Rock. Annointed by the Gods of Metal and compelled by divine commission, Johnny Danger (Vocals/Guitars), Sludge (Vocals/Bass), the Collapse of Uncertainty (Drums) and Psyence Fyktion (Vocals/Guitars) are here to spread the Gospel of Rock and Metal to the mewling hordes of those tainted by the corruption of mass produced music. Join these four Prophets of Rock as they take up the axes of those who have come before them to pave the way to Ragna-Rock. For though the end is nigh, the time to repent is now. Are you ready for take-off?
