hi guys recently my friends bought be a AT2020 usb as a birthday present..i plug it directly into my mac and started recording into garage band..it sounded already but i'm planning to improve on the quality.
i've some experience with protools and all for mixing sound for film recording, but not so much is vocal recording. what pre amp do you guys suggest me to partner my mic?
budget hopefully maximum 200 plus to 300? i dont need an damn good preamp, but a good enough one to support me when i move on to maybe the AT3k series, or maybe 4k series. my friend recommended me focusrite saffire, but i'm not too sure which series to get.
and does a shock mount affect alot? cause currently i'm using the mini mic stand that comes with the default packaging and its not really good. lastly, if i buy a preamp, what program will i be able to record my song into? will it be like a mbox to protools thing?currently i'm using a mac book pro..
thank you very much for reading. will greatly appreciated your help.
