Anyone here plays at Church?
What pedals and amps are you using?

Looking forward to share ideas on this forum...

Just to start heres the current pedals im using now.
since we dont use amp on the stage we go direct to PA system. Im using AMT Preamp and a AMT Cab simulator.

need a polytune though.
All these going through to a Ceriatone Lightning/ Fender Blues JR.
Not really a fan of going direct, unless its an AXE FX II :p

Hi there!

Whoa. Is that the AMT SS-11? Which variant did you get?

Like Micah, I go straight to PA with this setup, although I have a Fender Blues Junior to play through on stage. With worship bands, I tend not to play with an amp on stage. Support singers will start to complain that it's too loud haha.

Cool! I like the sound of the SS-11a, just the right amount of gain for singing leads in church. If you were using the SS-11b, I would have said that your settings look very heavy for church use haha.

I won't turn both on at the same time, it will depend on the situation. The first is a Version 1 running at 9V and dip switches at "vintage", to cut off some of the high end before hitting the overdrives. This helps me to get more grind out of my overdrives when I'm called to play heavier stuff.

The second is a version 2 running on 18V and dip switches set to unity gain. I'll have this on when I want to clean up the overdrives and play dynamically with just my fingers, as the attack sensitivity will follow the EP booster and not the overdrives. I got this from watching Allen Hinds play.

It starts of with a polytune>SP comp> Goodrich Volume Pedal > Rockbox Boiling point > Rockbox Red dog > Strymon timeline > Strymon el cap > Strymon bluesky
With a disasterareaamps DPC 5 as a looper/switcher pedal

So J_m_s, do you bring home the axe fx2 every week? If it stays in church, do you find that you have enough time to program the effects during practice time? How about monitors? Are you guys using in ear or do you have a floor based monitors?

I bring it home. It's pretty much 'set and forget' I guess. Takes time to tweak your tones, but it's worth it.

At home I'm using Adam A7x Studio monitors, considering picking up a Mackie FRFR to use to tweak tones as well.

We use in-ears (Avioms). There are also floor monitors on the stage but those are mainly for the BGVs.
