hey guys.
just wanna know how often do you guys practise on your drums?
and what do you guys normally do during the practises?

1-2hours daily! since its the holidays.

rudiments, different hand and foot exercises, different applications to drumset, hand techniques

hahaha joshie! holidays should be 3-4 hours what.

i think everybody practises rudiments. also play along to tracks. and maybe move your rudiments onto the kit.

haha.
drumming is hardwork ya ?
haha. just like guitar.
my pal practise on this guitar like so many hours a day.
so sad i dont have 1 drumset to myself, so cant really train.
haha.

i got no drum kit :(

i prac using my remo drum pad..but remo's too bouncy and loud...shacks, my mum's nagging. haha.

i wish for a drum kit.....

mix.
i wish for a drum kit too.
but even if i have the money i dont know where the drum kit will fit in my home. my home so small sia. haha.

anyway do you guys air drum ?

hey i don't have a drum kit either. tell you what i do when i needa practise songs like for a gig or something. i just take pillows and chairs and put together. so i can have a really big kit as long as i have more furniture! haha. but it helps. someone gave me a kit, and it was really bad, so i just took the hats and the snare stand. i took the bass pedal and put it against my wall with a cushion or something, then i put my pro-mark pad on the snare stand elevated, so it's like a 10" rack tom, (haha) then i put my HQ pad on a small chair in front of me, so it's like a snare. then i take a low soft chair and put it on my right - that's my floor tom. so there i have a 4-piece without much equipment. but even without the snare stands and stuff i used to take chairs and stuff to make my kit. try it out it's really better than nothing.

I don't really like to sit too long at the drum set and play nowadays, unless I have something I really need to trash out. Usually I set my metronome on at a comfortable pace, sit down for 30-45 mins and just start off with some basic rudiments (RLRL, RRLL etc etc) then go onto loosening up my arms by doing fills and stuff. Then maybe rest for 10 mins or so, check email, play some progression on guitar then after that it's back to the drum set to try and find a beat that fits the progression. If cannot then it's about 30 mins freestyle-anything-goes 'solo' and just whack some random stuff that I can think on the fly. Rest and repeat when the urge comes to smack some skins.

On the other hand, if I have a jam session coming up, it's head phones on and play along with the song. Quite fun actually.

hmm i set my metronome at 40 bpm, do some stuff, then move up 5 or 10 bpm ( 10 nowadays because of time constraints) , stay until comfortable... maybe 5-15 min? then move up 5 or 10 bpm and repeat., until i hit my limit, and then i move back down...

usually have no time to go back down now... but yup if i have the time that's what i would do hahha

if i go back down, i would shift back 5 bpm then move down 10bpm by 10bpm so that i would get used to all the timings in intervals of 5...

if a day is bad, no prac at all... if the day is good, an hour is nice... if the day is mine, anything goes... haha:)oh well, there's always the movies and outings... haha!:)
