Practice tube amp for home use.

Currently running a JEM7v through a Cube 30X.

I'm looking for a tube amp that (most important to least important):

1) Doesn't need to be cranked too much to achieve the "tube" sound (i.e. low wattage)
2) Does mid-high gain stuff well, I mostly play instrumental rock/shred with some thrash metal here and there.
3) Not too bright, slightly warm distortion/overdrive
4) <$1200

I don't mind if the amp requires pedals for certain situations (e.g. no delay/reverb, not enough gain to play thrash metal hence extra distortion pedals are needed).

Any suggestions? Thanks.

If you buy locally, try these options...

- Blackstar HT-5 (@ Woodworkz)
- Orange Tiny Terror (@ Yamaha)
- Vox Night Train (@ City Music)

if you can live with pedals, do consider a clean only guitar amp, the Killer Ant (Blackheart) is one for the list:
