i've heard from sources unknown that if you place a ds1 before the pod and set it minimal gain, the god of tone will speak to you.

well... i cant really speak for POD XT live cause i dun own one .. but i do own a GT8 ... well i can say that is one awesome multi FX pedal ... it has almost all kinds of effects u can find and furthermore u can tweak them to your very own liking ... u can turn on as many as more than 8 effects on at any one time so it's pretty cool ... tone quality wise .. it's good enough for stage standard ... well in the end it's still up to the player's capabilities to bring out the full potential of his pedal otherwise he will undermine it's capabilities .... As for POD XT live .. i believe it has it's merits ... and surely it will be good too ..

pod xt live for me too. software and sounds got me hook. and its perfect for recording purposes too. cheers

if u're speakin about recording... i think pod xt live heard very good reviews about the recording stuff... i never heard or tried a boss gt8 before.
if playing live is what u want... gt6 instead of gt8 or pod xt live. gt8 relatively new.. a lot of comments about it being too complex. pod xt live is just too digital to my ears... having that "line6" tone in all their modelling.

I've never liked Line6's modeling so I went with the GT-8... but I'm not ruling out the XT-Live for bass... :lol:
multiFX and audio interface products mostly offer USB connectivity instead of SPDIF out. correct?
maybe becoz most ppl own a standard PC with USB and no SPDIF.

got issues like glitches, stuttering, jittering artifacts when using USB..maybe some do not experience dat,,

for those using the podxt...any problems connecting ur device at jamming studio...how`s ur tone?
BlackMoo u dun have to pay for the patches, unless u upgrade to metal packs..etc...

no glitches when i connect via usb to record so far. never tried bringing to studio before so dunno. pod xt live works fine for me on recordings so far. thing abt pod xt live is no spdif but it does have midi. as for the digitalness of it, gotta agree that the line 6 modelling stuff on their range of spider amps sounds a little too clinical for me, but surprisingly, it sounds a-ok on the pod xt, has some warmth to it.
