heyya all
wondering if the pod studio is ideal for recording or is it just some interface for you to use pod farm which i believe just multi-efx which is menat to be used on the computer only?
i'm like wanting to venture into recording my own stuff but i don't know any interface to use hence would the pod studio be what i need?

and could someone enlighten me on the difference between the GX, UX1 and UX2? cos the web shows all the same key features...

lastly, apart from the POD studio alone. would i still need a recording software? or does the pod come with it? cos i noticed that toneport came with Ableton Live Lite, in which i have no idea what its for. =x

i just saw the city music sale pdf. or would a toneport be sufficient for me? cos i don't see any info on the toneport on the line6 website. :(

many thanksss :D

GX has ONE Instrument input AND one 1/8 inch output (phones/lineout)

UX1 has ONE Instrument, ONE Mic XLR input, TWO Line Input (1/2), TWO Analog Out (to Monitors) and ONE Headphone Out

UX2 has ONE Instrument, TWO Mic XLR input with Phantom Power, TWO Line Input (1/2), TWO footswitch input, ONE SPDIF Digital Out, TWO Analog Out and ONE Headphone Out

Simply put it if you're gonna record vocals go for UX1.
If You're gonna record vocals with CONDENSOR mic go for UX2
If you record guitar and bass only. The GX.

Cheers.

Well besides differences in colour of the housing POD Farm is free with the Studio series while Toneport UX series only get Gearbox(POD Farm available with a $70 upgrade). If you want good guitar sounds go for the Studio series with POD Farm, some of the features like dual amp really give you nice tones.

Oh and POD Studio comes with a slew of other free software which you might find useful especially Ableton.

so the studio is what i should be aiming for?
cos right now i have a rather good multi efx and i'll just plug my guitar into the mfx and then into the toneport/pod studio.
so the pod farm is rather redundant for me.

In that case it's personal preference, I for one don't like studio clutter so I keep hardware down to a minimum. If there is a software that can do a hardware's job I'll go soft almost any day.

But for you I think if the price difference is considerable then go for the Toneport.

I mean like the amount of things lying around in my home studio, I try to keep it minimal because my room is small.

The Gearbox or POD Farm software can do pretty much what a multi-fx can.

When I purchased my Toneport UX2 I only received Ableton and Gearbox, Studio has all those plus Riffworks, POD Farm and Reason Adapted(I think).
