Playing in air conditioned venues

this may seem dumb , BUT i have a genuine problem playing in air-conditioned venues, where my fingers would be stiffened by the cold, resulting in me screwing up, being slow, and embarrassing myself.

are there any tips and pointers to counter this problem? i cant even play in my room while my air con is on lol!

i constantly knead my hands and fingers to keep them warm 15min before starting. seems to work.

or, go to the toilet and hope for a working hand dryer inside.

hey i have this problem too. haha but when i'm performing my fingers just naturally thaw and may even sweat even if it's cold.

just don't turn ur aircon on below 23 degrees la.. haha

Okay lah, I don't shred. So maybe its different..

lol maybe what i said was an overstatement( i rewatch the petrucci psycho vids alot..)

but seriously, like now,i can barely play any lead songs with the aircon on, and its too damn hot and humid if i just use the fan

I freeze up my finger whenever i play in a concert hall on my sax, resulting in me not being able to play fast phrases well.

This works: Take a pencil/pen and roll it along your fingers with your palm facing you. Roll untill your fingers bend. Do it 5-8 times. Do it again with the opposite side of your hand facing you.

It might hurt a bit but your fingers will feel less tense and more mobile.

try to play more with aircon on, make your fingers get used to it.

doesn't seem to work, after all i spend most of my time in freaking humid conditions. zzz

im gonna try out what porterunderground said. but not now, too lazy to warm up the tubes in my amp, and sure get complaints from my stupid karaoke neighbors who are tone deaf..
