Playing above the 17fret.

hi i've been playing the guitar for about 2 years.
but I seem to have problems playing above the 17 fret.
my hands feel restricted.
it is fine when I use my strat but not for my les paul, any suggestions?

Strat has a more free cutaway and has a thinner neck. most Pauls have very chunky necks. For me, i usually don't go past the 15 or so, so i don't experience this problem. So i can only offer technical aspect but not the personal.

^^^^^with reference to Mr Slash?? lol

anyway im using a super strat it really is is quite cramped up above the 17 as well i guess it's a problem you gotta get used to

A dremel and a routing bit will solve your problems.

See how Zakk wylde solo. he place his les paul on his leg.
