Hi, ive been playing for 2 months now and planning to get a Epiphone les paul standard as my current one belongs to my cousin. Guys, what are your input on this?

It all depends on what you want, if you like your cousin's then consider eh.. What type of music do you want to play?

i like rock music and i like the les paul design. i believe it will motivate me to play more also. currently my cousins guitar is a stratocaster.

^English please.

To the TS, go to the shop and try it out. If you feel it matches your preferences better than your current guitar then by all means, get one. Although there are alternatives to the Epiphone if you're looking for a Les Paul, so do some research.

Dont you think its a little too early to buy an electric guitar in just 2 months ?

I myself have to wait more that a year to buy one . Coz i need to get those basics first , then i learn power chords, scales etc etc .

haha okay la , up to you .

I think he's trying to say that he doesent have a guitar and he's borrowing his couz's. so he wants to get his own guitar. maybe he has to return the guitar to his couz already? =x

oh ya , hes second post .

Anyway TS , why dont you try on acoustics first and get your fingers seasoned?
unless your fingers are seasoned in just 2 mmths ? ahaha mine took araound 4-5 mnths to get it seasoned when i first started playing .

Since you are already eye-ing on that guitar, which is an Epiphone Les Paul, I say you should go down to the shop and try it out. If you like it, save up and get it!.

But, taking into consideration that you have been playing guitar for 2 months, I think getting a guitar package like a Timbre SR200 or SR-803, would be good for you. When you have improved, you can move on to get the Les Paul.

IMO it doesn't really matter how long he's been playing. If he already has an amp and accessories, he should just go for the best that he can afford. There isn't a fixed hierarchy of guitars that he has to follow as he gets more advanced. If he gets the best straight away, he won't have to worry about upgrading in the near future.

Just get a guitar that feels and looks good to you can already...oh and sounds good to you too. The other things, worry later...
