uhm....what are pinch harmonics??? and are they important for an aspiring guitarist like me????

Pinch harmonics are high pitched harmonics caused by plucking a note while lightly touching your picking thumb against the string. If you want to hear them, just listen to any Zakk Wylde music. Typically they sound best with lots of distortion and vibrato, but aren't a crucial technique to learn although fun to play
