hey need help with pickups and stuff. Not sure what pickups to go for either SD or emg. But i heard emg pickups need battery.... so where does this battery go and how long does it last??

EMG..they have active and passive..and if im not wrong..the batteries go into the cavity where the pots are..not too sure..havent had any experience with them.

battery life wise i've heard people saying the battery life is short and some sed its long..2 sides to a coin..

if a certain guitar is equipped with active electronics by default, the manufacturers would often allocate space for the batteries to reside. this could be either the rear control cavity or a specific cavity have been included elsewhere. my Ibanez RG2228 features a pair of active humbuckers, powered by a single 9V battery residing in the control cavity:

the battery life very much depends on the length of use & user practice. some people leave their cable attached to the guitar overnight (some even later...) only to complain their power have been dried up by lousy manufacturer electronics; which isn't the case.

also have a question on pups. Any suggestions for single coils? Something more suitable for say rock and some bluesy stuff? Stuff from Eric Clapton to 3 doors down to Bon Jovi? Maybe something that would have a crunchy tone when I send it through a overdrive or something? My stock squier pups are damn muddy when I do stuff like that

tsk, tsk... hijacking eh?

anyway, to address your query- IMO you need a hotter set than your default Squier units. i'd recommend these:

*Seymour Duncan: Hot Stack STK-S2

*TESLA: Plasma-I

*DiMArzio: HS-2 (n/ m), HS-3 (b)

if you think you need more help, do start a new thread/ search older postings 8)

hey sub wat abt tesla plasma 2?
for high output. does the tone will get muddy or not clear when playing at high vol? both clean n dist.

Dude go get SD LIL`59 SINGLE COIL HUMBUCKER n SD CUSTOM CUSTOM HUMBUCKER!!! that is enough!! and get good effects. say Line 6? digitech? Cheers.
