Pedalboard Case building

hey, any one out there built ur own pedal board case before? ive got lots of time and thought of building one myself. anyone know where to get the materials and all... and how to go about it? i thought of buying wood from IKEA, u noe those shelves, and just built a simple one and attached it to maybe a metal casing or what... anyone can give advice? like cost and all... want something unique. lol. and also for the fun of it.

Building stuffs take a lot of effort and time. You do want to have something to show for the blood and sweat you put in. Why build something cheap and sloppy that you cannot be proud of? Try get some proper wood and metal hardware.
