Washburn 30W amp. It cost aroudn the same with the Peavey microbass, but it seems not as popular as microbass and i heard 2 bad reviews about it. Also this Washburn 30W got active and passive input, contour efx which is much more than peavey microbass got to offer, tho it doesnt have ddt compression (idont know what is it).

Here's is the link for the amp

$200 -// at swee lee.

it looks ugly, dont have much function, 20 Watt and dont know why so many good reviews and damn expensive.

Yeah man. i hate peavey. There are other beginner amps to try out at that price. Most to most only goes to 20-25 watts. You're only using it for practice, No need any other special "extras". Just basic EQ. If you dun have extra speakers, u might wanna consider getting one with a CD input to play along with your fav song. Most amps have this feature. Don't wait too long to make a decision. Your bass needs an amp! When you have more money, you can get a combo or good pre-amp.

i dunno ... but IMHO , go for the vox-t15 if u r looking around for an entry level beginner amp ... its decent ... got headphone input + CD input --> $168 ...

only bad thing is the thing weighs a ton and is a real PAIN IN ASS to drag around :P ... e pitch range also abit limited, in e sense when i turn my vol and tone on my jazz bass all the way up to max ... got one slightly prickly prickly (really slight) sound on the second tone knob ... annoying ... but great amp overall ... rich and loud for a 15 watt

yea. my T25 sounds much louder than what a 25w should sound like. Vox rules.

juz a burden to bring around.

what does cd input use for?

is it the same as jsut plug ur cable to ur soundcard and play using the speaker (im using it now, but must havea good speaker)

the idea of CD-input is to allow u to connect ur discman to ur amp ... / beginner CD guide so u can hear to a reference as u play .

alternatively , if u got no band to jam with , can get those tracks with basspart edited out then u learn the bass part then play with track ...

IMO i think most of the time , used for beginner to learn from beginner CD if not ... dunno how to use :P like those tracks no bass part ...i tihnk hard to find

With the CD input, you can plug your CD player to the amp. Plug from the CD player's heaphone socket to the amp's CD input. You will need an adapter as most CD players do not have a 1/4"socket. Get the adapter from any hi-fi shop or Harvey Norman etc

Once plug in, the amp acts like an external speaker to your CD. You can also play together with the music in your CD.

if wanted a badd track out can sue guitar pro, but its in midi.

anyway, after long consideration from washburn to peavey and laney.

i finally diceded to get a laney hcm15b over peavey microbass.

but i want the reviews, bad and good.

u mean the small baby lanley ? 15 w ? pretty good choice IMO ... i would have bought tt if i din buy e Vox ... but in terms of price ... for like 10- 15 dollars more ... u get a much louder and richer (tone wise) Vox ... but of course ... its heavy ... i tried the lanley hc15b in luther once but like very very soft ... tts y kinda dissapointed with it even though like mikemann and another guy recommended it .... i think its best if u PM mikemann about AMPS cos hes a AMP repair guy + studio manager ... can recommend u best bout amps..

btw :P he sells AMPS too

msh him already but havent reply. i want something small yet punchy.

yea then go for the lanley one ... a suitable alternative that subversion recommended is the small baby ibanez ... 10w ... at swee lee brash basah... quite loud ... but tone-wise poor ... punchy too .... but IMO lacks something .... sound wise la ....

erm specs wise .. pretty small and liight .,.. no CD input & headphone jack i think
