overdrive amp

i have a overdrive amp which sounds pretty distorted if u turn the gain up
i m not sure whether to buy a distortion pedal or to continue using my amp's overdrive.................................

if you like it, turn it up. if you don't, select the clean channel & hook up a distortion pedal.

i've been through lots of pedals but now i appreciate the amp's on-board overdrive more. this way, i can plug my guitar straight through without a pedal in between to alter my tone.
