Out of breath

You might want to try breathing deep (mouth is always a better place to breathe in as it takes in more air in a shorter amount of time) and use your diaphram to support. Kinda like practicing stamina, the ease of diaphram use comes with time and proper guidance.

.... ....

Well... use your diapragm.( Which is your abdomen area..) When you breathe in your tummy should expand and rise, and when you exhale it should flatten and contract. Well... as to the question of nose or mouth I think use the mouth bah. You can inhale much more air using the mouth which is much larger than the 2 nostrils combined(duh). :D hope this helps!

The diaphragm is NOT in the abdominal area but high up in the rib cage. And as muscles only work the one way, you can only use your diaphragm to breathe in - when you exhale or breathe out to sing, your diaphragm is actually PASSIVE. Any teacher or person who tells you to use your diaphragm to sing doesn't know what they are talking about.

Good singing relies heavily on correct breathing and breath support. Use the wrong muscles and you can never get the right result. You ned to learn to use your abdominal muscles to expel the air for singing instead of collapsing your chest.

If you want to learn how to use the right muscles give our Singapore teacher a call. It's much easier to learn the correct way with a qualified teacher than struggle on your own. Call June on 6356 7985 if you're serious about learning the right technique.
