On The Waterfront (B-quartet) Photos

No photos of Vertical Rush though, their sets are cancelled due to rain.
Anyways I also left after B-quartet set since I was told of no flash allowed halfway through B-quartet set.

No idea what is the event organiser thinking though when he/she disallowed flash photography for this event.

As usual, scroll down for the photos.

Thanks for coming by and shooting the band. :)

I think the bit about flash photography is by the Esplanade. I understand that bit. We discouraged that during their album launch as well.

How would you like it if the flash keeps popping in your eyes when you need them to see your pedals and your fretboard during that all-important orgasmic guitar solo...

Thanks. :)

Regarding the flash photography, I was told it was set by the event organiser by the Esplanade personnel, when I asked her whether the no flash allowed rule was only for the first set, or the whole night.
So I was quite surprised, since I used flash for both days that I went for Baybeats with no problem.

If the lighting is as good as major gigs standards, I can understand no flash allowed rule.
But the outdoor arena isn't up to it.

Even pro gig photographer like Tood Owyoung uses flash at times.

Anyways even when I use flash, I don't fire direct, I bounce up.

My 2 cents.

nice pictures, i like that shot of Bani Haykal (i think, the poet guy), he's cool

Hey Daryl,

Thanks! Haykal does quite a bit of spoken word performances as well. He might have a few performances coming up. He's currently embarking on a project which infuses poetry, props, performance art (I'm not sure if there's dance involved as well). He usually performs with members of B-Quartet (without the 2 guitarists) and some other performance artist.

Quite intense stuff. He might be performing on his own soon.

Look out for such news under the thread which we post shows/ news from acts with us. :)
