Opinions wanted for songs by a new music act.

http://www.savefile.com/projects/777997

One of the songs is a cover (duh). Most of the songs are about 3-4 years old, so quality is way below par in terms of arrangement, sequencing and recording value.

Actually, not looking for technical critique. We not technically savvy. We're just people who have ideas. Just wanna know if we have good ideas or not.

You can find out more about us at our website:

purplehaze: that is certainly flattering and motivating. thank you very much for your comments. all the more reason for us go forward with this.

very interesting.

noticed you have a good lyricist on board. :)

if you guys can gig, i'd want to watch you guys in action.

thor: The lyricist is very thrilled by your comment. Thank you.

We will definitely post should we be performing a live gig. We need all the support we can get.

THOA : I've taken a listen to your songs and i'm impressed by the good mixing, recording quality and overall sequencing - hope to learn something from you guys on this part! Your vocalist has potential for the western music industry, however, i feel he could articulate/pronounce the words better. You guys definitely have good ideas for songs though the existing ones can still be developed further. They remind me of bands like rage against the machine, the cardigans etc. In all, i'm looking forward to catching you guys live and keep on working on it, cause' you guys have the potential.

MrRhoads: Rage Against the Machine is definitely one of the many influences of the band, most specifically the song writer/vocalist himself. The Cardigans is a comparison that is new to us; we never thought we are that much like them. All the same, both are mighty huge band names and we are very honoured to have caught your attention enough for you to even think about them.

The Pink Floyd cover, as well as tracks 'Catastrophe' and 'Streaks' was recorded in early 2002 on a minimal set up and mixed and mastered over a Pentium 2 PC. As we had mentioned, we are not technically savvy individuals. We would DEFINITELY jump on the chance on developing those tracks further, and are looking into expanding our contacts to help us with that.

The vocalist is also well aware of his articulation/pronounciation (or in this case lack of it). He would really love to get tips, tricks and whatever advice it is that could help him with that area. Any suggestions on where he might look into for that?

We are definitely thinking of performing live in the near future. Just don't expect conventionality in the band set up either. We are never the ones who follow norms. To us, the word 'Band' is stifling. We prefer the term 'Unit'; we are vastly different individuals coming together to express. At any point of time, you can see between 1-10 individuals (maybe even more), though numbers are subjective at this point.

We will keep you posted on us. Watch this space.

Singer can really sing. Esp on streaks. Kinda linkin park-ish. Fits the music well.

The recordings are pretty good in fact. But the funny thing is they sound like they are compressed from the CD format or smthing. Dun have something higher in quality? Maybe the recordings will shine through even more

Chang: What you are listening IS a compressed format: 56kbs mp3. We purposely made it so for faster downloads, but also to discourage people from well... 'pirating' (don't know if that's good enough an explanation).

And though Linkin Park maybe one of the other bands influencing the sound of THOA, 'Streaks' and 'Catastrophe' was written and recorded BEFORE Linkin Park broke into the scene. Pure coincidence there.

But as with what MrRhoads has done, you have quoted a giant of a comparison. Thank you.
