Hey guys something to harass u all once again.

The main idea is abt an odyssey, a grp of sailors sailing then they saw new land. So they embark, but the place felt weird...

Lately been listening to alot of "dragon" metal, or power metal like Hammerfall, Sonata Arctica, Avantasia etc. Thus i noodled ard the fretboard and came up with the main piano riff of this track.

Idea was shelved for quite sometime until i dropped by mingguan's Friends Forever thread and learnt some of the methods/instruments he used while composing his song. So yea, put what u learnt to use. ^^

This song is just a prelude to the nxt part where the supposed "dragon" metal guitars will come in. Idea is conceived already, just have to find time to lay the tracks. So meanwhile enjoy!

Note: This is all midi programmed. Zilch guitar.

Note 2: Everyone must attempt to make a "dragon" metal song la. It's like giving back to all the RPGs tt we've played over the years haha.
 
The tune is OK but it sounds a lot simplified. But the tone is a killer - in all the wrong ways. Amazingly, it sounds worse than a casiotone.

Whatssup with the no-feel MIDI???

Yea's it'a quite an issue which i cannot resolve and i have no idea how to as well.

Any ideas where i can get better sounding midi kit's/patches/soundbanks?

Or any ways which i can bring some "feel" to midi? Cos i dun really have the clout to get the SSO to play this for me haha.
 
not yet....the prelude part shld be no prob...but the other song i nd abit of time to figure out....u didt burn the songs for me...very hard to imagine leh... 8O
 
Haha shit! Seems like it's going in the wrong direction!

Guess i really need a real keyboardist to come and play this.

great ideas...ur compositions are diversified, that something im lacking, im only ok at cloning others music haha... r u keen on a collab???
 
Hey guys, sorry to keep u all waiting for so long, but this song is finally completed. It still has the shitty midi intro part which i can't really help much, but i've tried to make amends as much as i could.

Btw the song is relatively draggy at the start, so pls be patient. It's a progressive power metal piece, with influences drawn from Dream Theater and Symphony X mostly. I'm not a very good player, so some parts do sound sloppy.
