OM: comfortably numb(new attempt, fixed reverbs)!

eh at nite still can play guitar...haha...wa ur song very nice to listen to...very relaxing...i wanna fall asleep bro...its like taking me to a far away place lost within those reverbs..hehe...cool

Not bad an attempt, tho ive yet hear the actual solo. :(

Too much reverb, erh kinda makes ur sound very unclear to me. But i could roughly make out what u are playing, so tt's still ok.

Sounded alittle out of ideas towards the end of the clip, maybe shld get out of the box and try some other scales/notes to veer off alittle.

Commendabale attempt. Keep working on it!

haha.too much reverb..try using overdrive lar..hahahahha.kidding.ignore tt part.

thanks for all the kind comments.. i didnt know how to adjust reverbs i set the reveb time to 2 secs, the Gverb has setings like tail level, input bandwidth, roomsize, dry signal level, early reflection level, damping which i know nuts about.

Chang: yea indeed i ran outta ideas, dunno why sometimes this 'fire' goes out too soon. Will work on it.

i did use an overdrive, digitech bad monkey..

Thats kick ass playing man--well done.

I think its not draggy inenough though. the end part really sped up.Maybe u can try using a fuzz instead.

draggy as in?
i've never tried a fuzz pedal before, how will that sound like? fuzzy?

but anyway my gears arent really decent, just making do with what i got, the setup goes like this :

epiphone les paul goldtop > Bad Monkey >old and cheap Vantage 10w amp with gain set at halfway mark > $5 mic

maybe draggy is not a good description.I meant more sustain.

Listen to all the old rock bands from the 60s and 70s. Their distortion came from fuzz pedals.i.e vintage distortion. It allows you to have smooth, sustained creamy distortion.

I know for a fact that that gilmour uses a big pi muff fuzz and a strat with emg sa pickups thru hi watts.

well actually i tried the bad monkey on a bigger amp, say those big peavey transtube amps at mikemann studio, its super creamy, It seems to add cream on top of the very rough amp overdrive .Dont seem to get that kinda cream on this 10w vantage amp..

well you could have just gotten a bad monkey
haha but i dont think my tone is nice, its not very clear, and it isnt very 'alive', and somehow the lil of amp of mine sucked out all the cream, wait till u hear the badmonkey on a decent amp...

Eh too much reverb, but nice playing anyway(did you improvise on later parts? 'coz its a lot different)

Oh yeah, i heard David Gilmour uses some kind of effects/pedals, where some notes he can sustain longer.. Which it turns make out a very good effect for the solo. Check out the video/song on comfortably numb on the album pulse.

i think you can find them here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Gilmour

yea i improvised for almost everything except the 1st few phrases, which i took from the comfortably numb live8 solo.

the reverb thing.. its a pity i have already mixed down in to mp3s without saving the original audacity project file.. so i cant undo the insane reverbs

haha yea.. next time i shouldnt get too excited to getting the finished product, and forget about saving the original recording

i guess being david gilmour's technician isnt easy.
