Hi... i am juz asking.. is the olp mm1 a good guitar? cos i am very interested cos its juz like the EVH musicman.. if anyone has comments do feel free to say... thx..

i've tried tha MM1 before, it's a good player but it could've been better with a tone control. however, the playability is tops, the model i tried had a nut in need of lubrication, other than that, it's something you'd like playing for the asking price.

i also tried the silhouette copy, the MM4 which is a more versatile unit IMO with the S-S-H pickup combo. personally, i'd invest in either guitar as oppossed to the John Petrucci copy... 8)

hey subversion, great to hear some input on the OLP models. Been tempted to get one of the silhouette copies to mess around with. Anyways you must have tried the JPM version too, what was bad about it huh? i wanted to try it out but davis didnt have stock unfortunately.

i think i have the review over at GEAR NEWS 2004...

however, the petrucci feels synthetic to the touch. nothing bad really, since it plays well. the bridge unit is a little uncomfortable for the right hand palm placement, i'm more than happy with the MM1/ MM4 make. the default humbuckers could have been better, there's no petrucci type tone from them though, a little unfair since it bears the name. for this kinda standard, it's more sensible to invest in the MM1/ MM4 since they cost less. that's just how i feel about it 8)

was at Davis to try the MM1 again- this time with another amp & i must say that it's a super player, throughly enjoyed it. worth every cent of the $395 asking price 8)
